BATR
By SARTRE
30 June 2014

July 4th has been the national birth date since the inception of the country. Americans want to celebrate past glories because there are few reasons to believe that the current government or society is worthy of rejoicing. Deifying the Founding Fathers and their wisdom usually is rooted upon the construction of a constitution based on separations of powers and shared authorities with individual states. Lost in this commemoration is the concept of true and lasting independence.

After a heated ratification process, Rhode Island on May 29, 1790, became the last of the 13th original colonies to approve constitutional central authority dominance. The years between 1787 and 1790 witnessed a betrayal of the American Revolution with that confirmation. In government schools, students taught that the Articles of Confederation was a failure, began their indoctrination into the cult of jingoist Federal Government Nationalism. Like most history, the version that becomes fact is the one written by the victor.

The undeniable reality of writing a constitution that provided exclusive powers over state governments creates a supreme national government, while destroying any effective restrictions upon the inevitable accumulation of absolute power. Bill of Right protections and the concept of “Federalism” are mere hollow promises when special esquire privileged “bar association” lawyers purport to possess the predominant right to determine and judge what the common law means.

The inevitability of a decent into despotism, built into the structure of Article VI, Paragraph 2 of the U.S. Constitution, commonly referred to as the Supremacy Clause, has proven true. It establishes that the federal constitution and federal law generally, take precedence over state laws, and even state constitutions.

Insatiable appetites and lust for power marks the ascendency of legislative, bureaucratic and judicial careers throughout the three branches of central government. Incrementalism and deception has evolved into open defiance and unfettered arrogance. The political class pretends that partisan parties actually offer loyal opposition, when both are camouflaged versions of the same vermin. As likely that cockroaches will inherit the earth, it is more certain that parasitic politicians steal the hopes and dreams of citizens, while destroying any chance for the common-man to have a future worth living.

Profiteering on Banker Deaths: Regulator Says Public Has No Right to Details

Daniel Stipano, Deputy Chief Counsel of the OCC, Testifying Before the U.S. Senate on April 11, 2013

Wall Street On Parade

30 June 2014

A man with a long history of keeping big bank secrets safe from the public’s prying eyes has denied the appeal filed by Wall Street On Parade to obtain specifics about the worker deaths upon which JPMorgan Chase pockets the life insurance money each year.

According to its financial filings, as of December 31, 2013, JPMorgan held $17.9 billion in Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) assets, a dark corner of the insurance market that allows banks to take out life insurance policies on their workers, secretly pocket the death benefits, and receive generous tax perks subsidized by the U.S. taxpayer. According to experts, JPMorgan could potentially hold upwards of $179 billion of life insurance in force on its current and former workers, based on the size of its BOLI assets.

The man who denied Wall Street On Parade’s appeal is Daniel P. Stipano, who told us by letter on June 20, 2014 that he had 450 pages of responsive material but it was not going to be released to us or the public. (See OCC Response to Appeal from Wall Street On Parade Re JPMorgan Banker Death Bets.)

Membership of the European Union is failing to boost Britain’s influence

SIR – We are often told by Europhiles that the reason Britain must stay in the European Union is that, if we left, we would have no influence; the naming of Jean-Claude Juncker as President of the European Commission shows we have none anyway. We might just as well leave at the earliest opportunity and pocket the £50 million-plus-per-day it costs us to be ignored.

SIR – Britain needs independence from the EU if it is to become a major partner with China. The EU’s aggressive confrontations with Russia are hardly the road along which Britain should be traveling.

GMO Insulin Causes Type 1 Diabetes in Type 2 Diabetics, Study Finds

So what does eating GMO foods do to average people? Here we go again. Tamper with nature and it bites you in the ass.

A groundbreaking new study finds synthetic (GMO) insulin is capable of rapidly producing type 1 diabetes in type 2 diabetics.

28 June 2014

Last year, we reported on the dangers of insulin therapy for type 2 diabetics, following the publication of a study comprised of almost 85,000 type 2 diabetic patients that found insulin monotherapy doubled their risk of all-cause mortality, in addition to significantly increasing their risk for diabetes-related complications and cancer. Insulin monotherapy resulted in:

  • 2.0 times more myocardial infarctions
  • 1.7 time more major adverse cardiac events
  • 1.4 time more strokes
  • 3.5 times more renal complications
  • 2.1 time more neuropathy
  • 1.2 times more eye complications
  • 1.4 times more cancer
  • 2.2 times more deaths

Now, a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism titled, "Insulin administration may trigger type 1 diabetes in Japanese type 2 diabetes patients with type 1 diabetes high-risk HLA class II and the insulin gene VNTR genotype," is shedding light on a possible explanation for why insulin treatment may accelerate morbidity and mortality in type 2 diabetics. The study revealed that giving genetically susceptible type 2 diabetes patients recombinant insulin can trigger their bodies to target their own insulin producing cells for autoimmune destruction, effectively producing 'double diabetes': type 1 and type 2, as a result.

Obama to seek $2 billion from Congress to tackle child migrant crisis

U.S. President Barack Obama is to ask Congress for more than $2 billion to deal with the surge in unaccompanied children from Central America flooding into the United States along its southern border.

Obama will make the request for emergency funding in a letter on Monday, asking Congress to act when it returns from a holiday recess on July 7, a White House official said on Sunday.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Central America this week for a visit that will include the inauguration of Panama's new president on July 1 and that is expected to include meetings on the crisis with Central American leaders.

In addition, Obama will seek greater authority for U.S. immigration officials to speed up the deportation of children caught crossing from countries such as Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, the official said.

The request will mark a major step in Obama's attempt to gain control of a chaotic scene on the U.S. border with Mexico where tens of thousands of children have crossed without their parents, straining resources and creating a political and humanitarian crisis.

The United States and the 28-member European Union (EU) have assiduously promoted – and vigourously preached – one of the basic tenets of Western multi-party democracy: majority rules.

But at the United Nations, the 29 member states have frequently abandoned that principle when it insists on “consensus” on crucial decisions relating to the U.N. budget – or when it is clearly outvoted in the 193-member General Assembly or its committee rooms.

That’s exactly what happened Thursday at the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva which adopted, by majority vote, a proposal to negotiate a legally-binding treaty to prevent human rights abuses by transnational corporations (TNCs) and the world’s business conglomerates.

But following the vote, the United States and the EU, have warned they would not cooperate with an intergovernmental working group (IGWG) which is to be established to lay down ground rules for negotiating the proposed treaty.

Stephen Townley, the U.S. representative in the HRC, told delegates: “The United States will not participate in this IGWG, and we encourage others to do the same.”

ISIS declares creation of Islamic state in Middle East, 'new era of international jihad'

ISIS jihadists have declared the captured territories from Iraq's Diyala province to Syria's Aleppo a new Islamic State - a ‘caliphate.' They removed 'Iraq and the Levant' from their name and urged other radical Sunni groups to pledge their allegiance.

ISIS announced that it should now be called 'The Islamic State' and declared its chief, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, as "the caliph" of the new state and "leader for Muslims everywhere," the radical Sunni militant group said in an audio recording distributed online on Sunday.

This is the first time since the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1923 that a Caliph – which means a political successor to Prophet Muhammad – has been declared. The decision was made following the group’s Shura Council meeting on Sunday, according to ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani.

The new Islamic State has marked its borders, spanning the territory captured by the group in a bloody rampage, from Iraq's volatile Diyala province to Syria's war-torn Aleppo.

The jihadist group has also claimed that they are now a legitimate state.

BNP Paribas Chief Executive Officer Jean-Laurent Bonnafe in a message to employees seen by Reuters has warned that the French bank is facing heavy penalties following a U.S. investigation into breaking sanctions which should end "very soon".

BNP Paribas declined to comment but sources have said the French bank is expected to plead guilty to a federal criminal charge and pay nearly $9 billion as part of a larger settlement with multiple enforcement authorities.

An announcement by U.S. authorities on the settlement is expected on Monday, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.

"I want to say it clearly here: we will receive a heavy penalty," Bonnafe said in an internal message sent on June 27 and seen by Reuters on Saturday.

"However, the difficulties that we are currently experiencing must not affect our plans for the future."

The jihadist threat to Jordan and possibility of Israeli involvement is of grave concern to the Obama administration, the Daily Beast reports.

28 June 2014

Israeli diplomats have told their American counterparts that Israel would be prepared to take military action to save the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan if it came under attack by jihadist militants, the Daily Beast reported on Saturday.

The threat posed to Jordan by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) which has already taken over wide swathes of Iraq and Syria, is of deep concern to the Obama administration and was the subject of a confidential briefing by administration officials to senators last week, according to the online news site.

The chief concern is that an attack on Jordan would inevitably drag Israel and possibly the United States into the fighting.

“Jordan could not repel a full assault from ISIS on its own at this point,” one senator was quoted as saying. Jordan "will ask Israel and the United States for as much help as they can get.”

The EU solidarity clause is leading to a militarisation of home-affairs policy

The slow creep of NWO fascism in the EU. One has to know that the most powerful will use this to enforce policy in the weakest countries within the EU with authority.

Britain must get the hell out.

Andrej Hunko
27 June 2014

“On Tuesday, the representatives of the EU Member States in the Council adopted a decision on the so-called ‘solidarity clause’. Were a disaster or a loosely defined crisis to occur, the organs of the European Union would be obliged to assist using all the instruments at their disposal. This includes military resources”, warned Member of the Bundestag Andrej Hunko.

The proposal on ‘arrangements for the implementation by the Union of the Solidarity Clause’ was jointly presented by the Commission and the EU High Representative in 2012. A country can invoke the “solidarity clause” if a crisis “overwhelms its response capacities”. Mention is made of operational, policy and financial instruments and structures.

Andrej Hunko continued:

“The adoption at the General Affairs Council took place in secret: the point was not mentioned on the agenda of the meeting. The press was not informed. Yet this is one of the most controversial clauses contained in the EU treaties. That is precisely the reason why agreement on the details of the solidarity clause was postponed to a later point at the time of the signature of the Lisbon Treaty.

Turkey's ruling party has indicated that it is ready to accept an independent Kurdish state in what is currently northern Iraq following the charge of Islamist militants through the country's northern regions.

"In the past an independent Kurdish state was a reason for war [for Turkey] but no one has the right to say this now," Huseyin Celik, a spokesman for the ruling AK party, told the Financial Times.

"In Turkey, even the word 'Kurdistan' makes people nervous, but their name is Kurdistan," he added.

"If Iraq is divided and it is inevitable, they are our brothers . . . Unfortunately, the situation in Iraq is not good and it looks like it is going to be divided."

A Kurdish state is viewed in Ankara as a possible buffer against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isis) which has shown the threat the group poses to regional security following the capture of Mosul and Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit.

Divide and Rule: US State Dept Plan to Split Iraq Along Sectarian Lines

A very rapid assessment of what is occurring. Dinarians?

21st Century Wire
By Andrew Mckillop
28 June 2014

The latest ‘ISIS Crisis” has once again flung the Middle East into a period of chaos and flux, but pay close attention to how the narrative is pushed down the timeline…

When you press the talk button, will that very special crowd of American commentators (always poised to launch a new MSM conspiracy theory) ever tell you that the US State Department and the Pentagon want the fall of Iraq’s el-Maliki regime?

The general rule of thumb is that Washington can never be friendly with a Middle East democracy or non-Monarchy for very long. Today, Washington says it “wants to work with the gov’t in Baghdad”, but fast forward down the road a month or two and the narrative will change to: “The Maliki gov’t is puppet gov’t of Tehran and must go”. They want to divide Iraq into Shia and Sunni camps engaged in constant sectarian warfare.

There are many side-bar conversations going on right now. The ‘conspiracy crowd’ (aka Alternative Media) – always reflecting credit on the devious all-knowing American elite that most of these commentators pretend to hate – are rushing to tell us that the ISIS onslaught in Iraq “was all planned by the State Department”. The reality may be more complex than this. There are multiple players, and many pieces in play: Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Kurdistan, Israel, US, UK,France, Russia et all - it’s Zbigniew Brzezinski’s the Grand Chessboard on Acid, and highly volatile.

Nasa's 'flying saucer' splashes back down after test

So much for US advanced technology when they can't even plan a parachute to open correctly. What a crock.

Nasa's 'flying saucer', testing technology designed to aid future landings on Mars, suffers 'hard landing' when descent parachute doesn't employ fully

The Telegraph

29 June 2014

A saucer-shaped Nasa vehicle testing new technology for Mars landings made a successful rocket ride over the Pacific on Saturday, but its massive descent parachute only partially unfurled.

The Low Density Supersonic Decelerator was lifted by balloon 120,000 feet into the air from the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The vehicle then rocketed even higher before deploying a novel inflatable braking system.

But cheers rapidly died as a gigantic chute designed to slow its fall to splashdown in the ocean emerged tangled.

NASA officials were nonetheless satisfied with the test of technology that might one day be used to deliver heavy spacecraft – and eventually astronauts – to Mars.

Since the twin Viking spacecraft landed on the red planet in 1976, Nasa has relied on the same parachute design to slow landers and rovers after piercing through the thin Martian atmosphere.

Wesolowski has two months to appeal. He also faces other charges by the criminal tribunal of Vatican City, since as a papal diplomat he is a citizen of the tiny city state.

Humor | a hair dryer

In parochial school students are taught that lying is a sin. However, instructors also advised that using a bit of imagination was OK to express the Truth differently without lying. Below is a perfect example of those teachings:

Getting a Hairdryer Through Customs

An attractive young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the Priest beside her, 'Father, may I ask a favour?'

'Of course child. What may I do for you?'

'Well, I bought my mother an expensive hair dryer for her birthday. It is unopened but well over the Customs limits and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it. Is there any way you could carry it through customs for me? Hide it under your robes perhaps?'

'I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you, I will not lie.'

'With your honest face, Father, no one will question you.'

When they got to Customs, she let the priest go first. The official asked, 'Father, do you have anything to declare?'

'From the top of my head down to my waist I have nothing to declare.'

The official thought this answer strange, so asked, 'And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?'

'I have a marvelous instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused.'

Roaring with laughter, the official said, 'Go ahead Father. Next please!'

Wise words indeed as they aptly describe misguided confidence in the US dollar.

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), which helps manage the global banking system, tells us that US dollar settlement accounts for the vast majority of global trade.

And as Orwell suggests, many people take it for granted that just because the dollar is in the lead today, it will be that way forever.

They couldn’t be more wrong. There’s been a dominant reserve currency for thousands of years.

The Byzantine Empire’s gold solidus was the world standard for centuries; when they hit the reset button in the 11th century, it became the gold hyperpyron.

Eventually this was abandoned for Venetian ducats. Soon Spain’s silver pieces of eight became the dominant reserve standard to the point they were still legal tender in the United States until 1857.

By the 1860s, the British pound sterling was the world’s primary reserve currency, and over 60% of world trade was settled in pounds.

Reserve currencies come and go. So will the dollar. This is nothing new.

Beijing diplomats on charm offensive to rally support for new institution free from U.S. control.

China wants to set up a multilateral development bank in Asia to break the U.S.’s financial hold on the continent, the Financial Times reported Tuesday, citing officials familiar with the matter.

It said that Chinese officials have been touring Asia and the Middle East drumming up support for a new institution with $100 billion in capital, with a view to financing major development projects such as infrastructure. The FT said 22 countries across the region have expressed interest so far.

Such an institution would be a direct rival to the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, which China thinks are too much influenced by the U.S. and its ally, Japan.

Spectre of war: Schoolboy's picture captures ghost of Scots soldier standing over rows of German graves

THIS is the ghostly image of a World War I Scots soldier captured by a schoolboy on his iPhone.

Mitch Glover, 14, took several snaps when he visited a cemetery in France during a school trip.

When he got home, he was shocked to see the image of a soldier in a kilt and Tam O’Shanter on one of the pictures.

Mitch said: “I ran upstairs to show my mum. She was kind of freaked out.”

Mitch’s mother Sue, 50, an antiques dealer, says: “You could see there was something in that one place.

“A friend of mine said, ‘Do you realise that looks a bit like outfits from the Seaforth Highlanders’.”

Mitch, of Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, took the snap in the Neuville-St Vaast German cemetery near Arras in northern France. It is a few hundred metres from Nine Elms military cemetery, where soldiers of the 114th Seaforth Highlanders fell in battle in April 1917.

China plans investment bank to break World Bank dominance

Be prepared for what is coming now. Living a giant LIE for 50 years will be a savage wake up sock.

No matter where you look, if you look, you see change. The kind of change driven by the decision to depart the USD in trade and development. This backed not just by China and the BRIC nations; the whole of the G77 is in that space too.

One must ponder the real ramifications of what this means in the west as the role of both the US and the dollar is dramatically lessened. Is it any wonder then why England has abandoned the dollar in trade settlement by directly going to the Yuan? Soon France and Germany will follow and what remains in the world using the dollar will be sorely limited. The big questions are when will:

  • China elect to back their currency with gold
  • Saudis declare that other currencies are acceptable in payment for oil

Logic suggests that the value of dollar will ultimately fall to reflect these changes which in of itself will mean structural change, especially in North America. In a interconnected world of commerce, no nation is immune to global financial change and thus, the good old days in North America will be just that. America needs to elect Clean Leaders of ability and ethos - clear out the trash.

RT
26 June 2014

China is moving forward with a plan to create its own version of the World Bank, which will rival institutions that are under the sway of the US and the West. The bank will start with $100 billion in capital.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will extend China’s financial reach and compete not only with the World Bank, but also with the Asian Development Bank, which is heavily dominated by Japan. The $100 billion in capital is double that originally proposed, the Financial Times (FT) reported.

A member of the World Bank, China has less voting power than countries like the US, Japan, and the UK. It is in the ‘Category II’ voting bloc, giving it less of a voice. In the Asian Development Bank, China only holds a 5.5 percent share, compared to America’s 15.7 percent share and Japan’s 15.6 share.

At the International Monetary Fund, China pays a 4 percent quota, whereas the US pays nearly 18 percent, and therefore has more influence within the organization and where loans go.

"China feels it can’t get anything done in the World Bank or the IMF so it wants to set up its own World Bank that it can control itself,” the FT quoted a source close to discussions as saying.

26 June 2014

The U.S. Navy is quietly converting a 633-foot-long cargo ship into a secretive helicopter carrier with facilities for supporting a large contingent of Special Operations forces and all their gear, including jet skis.

Yes, jet skis.

And here's the really weird thing: almost nobody is talking about the new "mothership" vessel, even though it could significantly expand America's at-sea commando footprint.

In November, Military Sealift Command — America's quasi-civilian fleet of more than 100 specialized but lightly armed vessels — awarded an initial $73-million contract to shipping giant Maersk to convert one of its cargo ships to a so-called "Maritime Support Vessel" standard.

Maersk tapped the 30,000-ton displacement M/V Cragside, built in 2011. After enduring a legal protest by rival Crowley, in January Maersk sent Cragside to the Gulf of Mexico for military modifications, most likely at the BAE shipyard upriver in Alabama.

The contract, extendable for up to four years, could be worth up to $143 million. The militarized Cragside could deploy as early as November this year.

Jets from Russia and Belarus will hopefully make a key difference in the fight against ISIS in Iraq, the country’s Prime Minister Nouri Maliki said. He expressed regrets over Iraq's contract with the US, saying their jets are taking too long to arrive.

"God willing within one week this force will be effective and will destroy the terrorists' dens," he told BBC Arabic.

Meanwhile, Maliki criticized the process of purchasing US jets as “long-winded,” adding that the radicals could have been repelled if Iraq had proper air defense.

"I'll be frank and say that we were deluded when we signed the contract [with the US]," Maliki said. "We should have sought to buy other jet fighters like British, French and Russian to secure the air cover for our forces; if we had air cover we would have averted what had happened," he went on.

Maliki said Iraq bought second-hand jet fighters from Russia and Belarus "that should arrive in Iraq in two or three days.”

THE UNITED NATIONS - The US plans to spend $500 million for training and outfitting Syrian rebels is a step in the wrong direction, Russian Permanent Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin said on Thursday. In his words, 500 million dollars is “a very big sum of money.” “I am sure that it is possible to spend it for something more useful,” he told a news conference at the Russian Permanent Mission at the UN.

“They (the United States) put the situation on the wrong track,” the diplomat said. He said with regret that the US “adds fuel to the fire of Syrian conflict instead of seeking a political solution.” “We noticed that our American partners say that they are not confident whether a successor to Brahimi should be appointed and they are not confident whether talks (between Damascus and opposition) should be resumed. They are sure of nothing,” Churkin stated.

The US Administration asked the Congress for $500 million in aid to the so-called moderate armed Syrian opposition, White House spokesperson Caitlin Hayden said on Thursday.

Plans of the Obama Administration to allocate $500 million to train opposition militants raise many questions of observers. The region faced an unprecedented terrorist threat primarily coming from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant organization. Starting their extremist activities in northern Syria, terrorists of this grouping also moved to Iraq and took control of several regions in the country.

Berlin drops Verizon over US spying fears

The world has set down a marker now on US IT and Software. Exclude them for life at all costs and haste.

They have lost the Global currency role. The energy markets are defecting. The latest Jet fighter overrun is a joke. It may reach $1 Trillion dollars of waste.

Why not sack the supplies on failure one?

Financial Times
26 June 2014

Berlin has terminated a contract with Verizon over concerns about the security of its systems in the first sign of serious commercial repercussions in Europe from the Snowden revelations of mass US government spying on its allies.

The German interior ministry said the cancellation was linked to the “relationship between foreign intelligence agencies and companies” that the rogue National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden exposed last year. The revelation of surveillance by US government agencies, and the complicity of some US companies, provoked particular outrage in Germany.

Among the revelations, it emerged that Verizon was required by a court order to hand over information about telephone calls on its network to the NSA on an “ongoing, daily” basis. The order barred the company from publicly disclosing the existence of the request. The metadata collected by the NSA included the number calling, being called, and the location and length of the call.

Berlin said on Thursday it was reorganising its information and communication systems to provide an “increased level of security”.

King Abdullah calls up Saudi armed forces on high preparedness - Egyptian troops ready to fly to kingdom

A disaster seemingly has found a place to happen. Why have this ISIS bunch not been strafed into oblivion by now?

DEBKA file
26 June 2014

Thursday, June 26, the day before US Secretary of State John Kerry was due in Riyadh, King Abdullah summoned a National Security Council meeting “upon the current security events in the region, especially in Iraq,” and ordered “all necessary measures to protect the kingdom against terrorist threats.” This meant a general call-up of military units for a high level of preparedness.

debkafile’s military sources disclose that Egypt is assembling an expeditionary commando force to fly to Saudi Arabia and bolster its border defenses.

This flurry of Saudi-Egyptian military steps comes in the wake of intelligence gathered by Saudi reconnaissance planes showing Iraqi Al Qaeda-linked Sunni fighters (ISIS) heading for the Saudi border and aiming to seize control of the Iraqi-Saudi crossing at Ar Ar (pop: 200,000).

ISIS and its Sunni allies are still on the march after capturing Iraq’s border crossings with Syria and Jordan earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Kerry warned Mideast nations against taking new military action in Iraq that might heighten sectarian divisions.
By then, he had been overtaken by a rush of events, as debkafile reported this morning.

Classic WHO: Why Petraeus Takedown May Have Been an Inside Job

Enemies are not just far away but also close to home. Who coveted his job more?

Discretion goes with the territory. And the big question - Would Ya?

Gen. David Petraeus and Paula Broadwell

Who What Why
By James Huang
25 June 2014

In this post from February 2013, Douglas Lucas and Russ Baker uncovered a whole new possible explanation of how General David Petraeus’s extramarital affair with Paula Broadwell may have been merely a tool in a little-understood battle within the U.S. military/intelligence establishment.

The result, of course, was the removal of the ex-Pentagon leader as CIA chief and the ascendancy of a rival, the longtime CIA man John Brennan.

Since our story first appeared, Petraeus has landed on his feet and in a typical fashion for a retired four-star general—in the corporate world, the one corner of the iron triangle of government, politics and business left open to him. Since May 2013, he’s been the chairman of the KKR Global Institute, the geopolitical arm of private equity giant KKR.

Most recently, he was out on a tour of the fracking fields in North Dakota’s Bakken Shale, which raised some eyebrows over the access Petraeus and KKR had to the state’s treasurer and land board.

Institute for Political Economy

A final number for real US GDP growth in the first quarter of 2014 was released today. The number is not the 2.6% growth rate predicted by the know-nothing economists in January of this year. The number is a decline in GDP of -2.9 percent.

The negative growth rate of -2.9 percent is itself an understatement. This number was achieved by deflating nominal GDP with an understated measure of inflation. During the Clinton regime, the Boskin Commission rigged the inflation measure in order to cheat Social Security recipients out of their cost-of-living adjustments. Anyone who purchases food, fuel, or anything knows that inflation is much higher than the officially reported number.

It is possible that the drop in first quarter real GDP is three times the official number.

Regardless, the difference is large between the January forecast of +2.6 percent growth and the decline as of the end of March of -2.9 percent.

Any economist who is real and unpaid by Wall Street, the government, or the Establishment knew that the +2.6 percent forecast was a crock. Americans’ incomes have not grown except for the one percent, and the only credit growth is in student loans, as those many who cannot find jobs mistakenly turn to “education is the answer.” In an economy based on consumer demand, the absence of income and credit growth means no economic growth.

Gazprom Ready To Drop Dollar, Settle China Contracts In Yuan Or Rubles

Likely the most important story of the week so far for the USD, on top of a meeting of G77 who want to move away from the dollar, which took place the other week.

Ignoring the reality occurring and holding on to what no longer exists is meaningless in a world where events are moving so quickly. More desert the US again.

Zero Hedge
By Tyler Durden
26 June 2014

A little over a month ago, when Russia announced the much anticipated "Holy Grail" energy deal with China, some were disappointed that despite this symbolic agreement meant to break the petrodollar's stranglehold on the rest of the world, neither Russia nor China announced payment terms to be in anything but dollars. In doing so they admitted that while both nations are eager to move away from a US Dollar reserve currency, neither is yet able to provide an alternative. This changed rather dramatically overnight when in a little noticed statement, Gazprom's CFO Andrey Kruglov uttered the magic words (via Bloomberg):

  • GAZPROM READY TO SETTLE CHINA CONTRACTS IN YUAN OR RUBLES: CFO

In other words just as the US may or may not be preparing to export crude - a step which would weaken the dollar's reserve status as traditional US oil trading partners will need to find other import customers who pay in non-USD currencies - the world's two other superpowers are preparing to respond. And once the bilateral trade in Rubles or Renminbi is established, the rest of the energy world will piggyback.

But wait, there's more. Because only now does Gazprom appear to be unveiling all those "tangents" that were expected to hit the tape in May. Among Kruglov's other revelations were that Gazprom is in talks on a Hong Kong listing and is weighing the issuance of Yuan bonds. Gazprom is also considering selling bonds in Singapore dollars, the CFO said at briefing in Moscow. Wait, you mean that by alienating and embargoing Russia from western (USD, EUR-denominated) funding markets, it has pushed the country to turn to its pivoting partner, China and thus further cementing the framework for the next Eurasian strategic alliance?

Unpossible

But wait, there's still more, because it is not just Gazprom. As the PBOC announced overnight, PBOC Assistant Governor Jin Qi and Russian central bank Deputy Chairman Dmitry Skobelkin led a meeting held yesterday and today in Shanghai. The meeting discussed cooperating on project and trade financing using local currencies. The meeting discussed cooperation in bank card, insurance and financial supervision sectors.

In other words, central bankers of China and Russia discussed how to replace the dollar with Rubles and Yuan. From the PBOC:

In retrospect it will be very fitting that the crowning legacy of Obama's disastrous reign, both domestically and certainly internationally, will be to force the world's key ascendent superpowers (we certainly don't envision broke, insolvent Europe among them) to drop the Petrodollar and end the reserve status of the US currency.

First demonstration of a self-powered cardiac pacemaker

At this pace of research, life will be extended immeasurably. Once we crack the heart, next step the organs. Size too?

Energy Harvesting Journal
25 June 2014

As the number of pacemakers implanted each year reaches into the millions worldwide, improving the lifespan of pacemaker batteries has been of great concern for developers and manufacturers. Currently, pacemaker batteries last seven years on average, requiring frequent replacements, which may pose patients to a potential risk involved in medical procedures.

A research team from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), headed by Professor Keon Jae Lee of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at KAIST and Professor Boyoung Joung, M.D. of the Division of Cardiology at Severance Hospital of Yonsei University, has developed a self-powered artificial cardiac pacemaker that is operated semi-permanently by a flexible piezoelectric nanogenerator.

The artificial cardiac pacemaker is widely acknowledged as medical equipment that is integrated into the human body to regulate the heartbeats through electrical stimulation to contract the cardiac muscles of people who suffer from arrhythmia. However, repeated surgeries to replace pacemaker batteries have exposed elderly patients to health risks such as infections or severe bleeding during operations.

Humor | Trading Private Bergdahl

American humor breaks through.

Humor | two of the best comeback responses

Number 1:

If you ever testify in court, you might wish you could have been as
sharp as this policeman. He was being cross-examined by a defense
attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer was trying to undermine the
police officer's credibility .....

Q: 'Officer --- did you see my client fleeing the scene?'

A: 'No sir. But I subsequently observed a person matching the
description of the offender, running several blocks away.'

Q: 'Officer, who provided this description?'

A: 'The officer who responded to the scene.'

Q: 'A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called
offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?'

A: 'Yes, sir. With my life.'

Q: 'With your life? Let me ask you this then officer. Do you have a
room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily
duties?'

A: 'Yes sir, we do!'

Q: 'And do you have a locker in the room?'

A: 'Yes, sir, I do.'

Q: 'And do you have a lock on your locker?'

A: 'Yes, sir.'

Q: 'Now, why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with
your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you
share with these same officers?'

A: 'You see, sir, we share the building with the court complex, and
sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.'

The courtroom EXPLODED with laughter, and a prompt recess was called.

Number 2:

Now We Know Why He Was a General -----

In an recent interview, General Norman Schwarzkopf was asked if he
thought there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have
harboured and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks
on America.

His answer was classic Schwarzkopf.

The General said, "I believe that forgiving them is God's

Why Myanmar's plan to acquire fighter jets from China, Pakistan should worry India

There is a pressing need for the new Indian government to engage with Myanmar at the highest levels as Pakistan and China are all set to enlarge their strategic footprints in Myanmar by selling fighter aircraft to that country.

Myanmar government is planning to procure an unspecified number of JF-17 Thunder multi-role combat aircraft. JF-17 is the joint project of Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC) of China.

While India cannot officially object to the proposed JF-17 deal, the development underlines the need for India getting its act together. India can do so in two ways: overtly and covertly.

Overtly, India can step up engagement with Myanmar at all levels, particularly politically and militarily. Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to put this crucial contiguous neighbour on the front burner of his near-abroad foreign policy outreach and ensure a top level visit within a few weeks.

Corporatocracy | Another Secret Trade Agreement - TISA

From discerning writers we have been supplied with yet another Secret Agreement to expose for you all.

BATR
By James Hall
25 June 2014

The significance of the TPP -Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and the TTIP - Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement has your head spinning already, now add another globalist gift to the Corporatocracy model of total trade domination, the TISA - Trade In Services Agreement. According to the trade group, Coalition of Service Industries, "the TISA is currently being negotiated in Geneva, Switzerland with 50 participants that represent 70 percent of the world's trade in services . . . The TISA has the opportunity to address major and fundamental barriers to trade in services affecting the United States and the globe. Some barriers to services trade include limited movement of data across borders, unfair competition from state-owned enterprises, lack of transparency and need for due process of law, and forced local ownership and discrimination in obtaining business licenses and permits."

What a noble goal, Transparency. When did you hear about this updated GATS and WTO agreement? Well, if you are watching the pressitute media, you probably are in the dark. However, the Office of United State Trade Representative just loves formulating international rules, requirements and regulations, since the benefits are so dramatic. "If business services were to achieve the same export potential as manufactured goods globally, U.S. exports could increase by as much as $800 billion."

Just one question, that never seems to get an answer. Why do all these "so called" beneficial trade agreements doom the United States to a permanent balance of trade deficit?

China sets out to become global leader in chip manufacturing

Clear indication that they plan for the future and invest in it. America's spying will backfire badly.

PC World

24 June 2014

China is propping up its local chip manufacturing industry with new policies and financial support intended to turn the country into a semiconductor-making powerhouse by 2030.

In policy guidelines published Tuesday, the Chinese government laid out a blueprint to develop the domestic integrated circuit industry.

The country not only wants to sharpen its competitive edge, but also wean itself from foreign chip makers, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in a separate posting.

China is already the biggest manufacturer of electronics, and also one of the largest markets for them. Last year, China-based companies made almost 1.5 billion mobile phones and 340 million PCs. But the country’s electronic industry, with profit margins at about 4.5 percent, is not generating the net earnings it would like from the goods, according to the ministry.

‘Legal malware’ produced by the Italian firm Hacking Team can take total control of your mobile phone. That’s according to Russian security firm Kaspersky Lab and University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab (which also obtained a user manual).

Operating since 2001, the Milan-based Hacking Team employs over 50 people and offers clients the ability to “take control of your targets and monitor them regardless of encryption and mobility," while “keeping an eye on all your targets and manage them remotely, all from a single screen.”

It’s the first time Remote Control Systems (RCS) malware has been positively linked with mobile phones and it opens up a new privacy threat potential to mobile phone users.

“Our latest research has identified mobile modules that work on all well-known mobile platforms, including as Android and iOS,” wrote Kaspersky researcher Sergey Golovanov.

Hormone-Disrupting Activity of Fracking Chemicals Worse Than Initially Found

Neo pre warned all of this and more. [link]

A horrible legacy that will haunt for a long time. One day this will be more profitable than big tobacco for the lawyers.

Newswise
23 June 2014

CHICAGO, IL - Many chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, can disrupt not only the human body’s reproductive hormones but also the glucocorticoid and thyroid hormone receptors, which are necessary to maintain good health, a new study finds. The results were presented Monday at the joint meeting of the International Society of Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society: ICE/ENDO 2014 in Chicago.

“Among the chemicals that the fracking industry has reported using most often, all 24 that we have tested block the activity of one or more important hormone receptors,” said the study’s presenting author, Christopher Kassotis, a PhD student at the University of Missouri, Columbia. “The high levels of hormone disruption by endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that we measured, have been associated with many poor health outcomes, such as infertility, cancer and birth defects.”

Hydraulic fracturing is the process of injecting numerous chemicals and millions of gallons of water deep underground under high pressure to fracture hard rock and release trapped natural gas and oil. Kassotis said spills of wastewater could contaminate surface and ground water.

Putin Scores Another Historic Victory: Austria Signs South Stream Pipeline Deal In Defiance Of Europe

As more Europeans sign up with China, the end of the Petro dollar is coming, and with it the end of US Global Hegemony and Fed Racketeering. US Welfare is unaffordable and must end as it is today. Britain is cutting its own Military by a further 20%. The Bloated US Cabal needs to be cut by 50%. Out with them. Eurasia is coming. America is ending as the Terror Overlord. America needs to face reality fast - it's OVER!

France is about to sign the same deal that Britain just signed directly with China on trade in yuan rather than dollars. Europe is shifting and Eurasia will become a reality as America is further isolated as the dollar is shunned in trade and settlement. The reality is that Europe wants to go its own way and not be a vassal state. These are epic events where the direction is clear and will not return to the past.

Below is a big story unto itself.

Zero Hedge
By Tyler Durden
25 June 2014

As the war of words between Europe and Russia has escalated, one of the outcomes that has emerged is that just like in false flag war over Syria, the Ukraine war was about the simplest possible thing, and yet so very complicate: a gas pipeline. Of course, it was never a secret that the prize in controlling Ukraine was possession of the vast pipeline infrastructure that left Russia and entered Europe, but since it was all Gazprom's gas in the first place, it didn't really matter if Kiev had possession of the gas as it transits to Europe, or if, as the case is now, Ukraine is merely a transit hub with all Russian gas delivered to European countries and none of it staying in the civil war torn country. After all as of this moment Ukraine can't afford any Russian gas, and if it siphons off any of the product destined for Germany and beyond it would simply antagonize its new NATO best friends, who also happen to be Gazprom clients.

No, the pipeline that has emerged with a starring role in the Ukraine conflict has nothing to do with Ukraine, but is a pipeline that crosses several hundred kilometers south of Ukraine - the South Stream project, which leaves the Russian black sea coast south of Crimea, crosses the black sea, and traverses Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary and ends up in the gas hub in Baumgarten, Austria from where it proceeds to all points in central Europe, mostly Germany.

The project, which was conceived in 2007, was meant explicitly to bypass Ukraine, and to be an alternative to the now mothballed Nabucco gas pipeline which, with the backing of the US and Europe, would have taken Caspian gas (mainly Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan) and traverse Turkey before emerging in Bulgaria, and then followed the European path of the South Stream into the Austrian hub and beyond.

Gowdy Takes on IRS Rep

It's long overdue. Time this Puerto Rican Con Agency got shafted out.

Trey Gowdy (R-SC) hit IRS Commissioner John Koskinen with a question the bureaucrat couldn't answer Monday:

"You have already said multiple times today that there was no evidence that you found of any criminal wrongdoing," Gowdy said.

"I want you to tell me what criminal statutes you have evaluated."

Befuddled, Koskinen replied, "I have not looked at any."

Gowdy fired back, "Well then how can you possibly tell our fellow citizens that there's not criminal wrongdoing if you don't even know what statutes to look at?"

Gowdy repeated the question.

Koskinen again admitted, "I reviewed no criminal statutes."

The only hope for the IRS is smoke and mirrors.

Lavrov goes to Saudi Arabia to discuss situation in Syria, Iraq

Once Saudi falls out of the Petro Dollar scam its game over for the US.

What if he went there to smooth over relationships so that a consensus on not using the dollar could be announced? Now you know China would have a hand in the discussions or at least arranging them so their hands remain clean. Face is everything in their culture.

The day the Saudis say they accept other currency is a dark day for the dollar and America.

Is anyone at home watching and understanding the big picture? These moves are not isolated or random, but planned. America selling crude is a feeble attempt at the obvious problem.

It is a time to set America free from a ship of fools.

On June 9, Lavrov and al-Faisal had a telephone conversation on the initiative of the Saudi side. They discussed efforts towards settling the crisis in Syria and other conflict situations in the region.

The two countries also develop economic cooperation, including in the energy sphere. On June 18, Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed on a draft intergovernmental framework agreement on cooperation in peaceful uses of nuclear energy and subsequent steps in preparing the agreement for signature.
