Global Cooling is Here

Say goodbye to the northwest passage if this materializes. Now you see it, then you don't. Perhaps a time to invest in ice breakers, and winter clothing companies and their sports. This cycle would also punch big holes in the expectations of corn being grown on the prairies. Not good.

Global Research Editor’s note

The following article represents an alternative view and analysis of global climate change, which challenges the dominant Global Warming Consensus.

Global Research does not necessarily endorse the proposition of “Global Cooling”, nor does it accept at face value the Consensus on Global Warming. Our purpose is to encourage a more balanced debate on the topic of global climate change.

INTRODUCTION

Despite no global warming in 10 years and recording setting cold in 2007-2008, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climatic Change (IPCC) and computer modelers who believe that CO2 is the cause of global warming still predict the Earth is in store for catastrophic warming in this century. IPCC computer models have predicted global warming of 1° F per decade and 5-6° C (10-11° F) by 2100 (Fig. 1), which would cause global catastrophe with ramifications for human life, natural habitat, energy and water resources, and food production. All of this is predicated on the assumption that global warming is caused by increasing atmospheric CO2 and that CO2 will continue to rise rapidly.

Wireless Power Transfer Achieved Using Magnetic Field

Tesla's work being duplicated, this is a real world impact. Slowly we are waking up to alternative energies.

Activist Post
17 April 2014

The way electronic devices receive their power has changed tremendously over the past few decades, from wired to non-wired. Users today enjoy all kinds of wireless electronic gadgets including cell phones, mobile displays, tablet PCs, and even batteries.

The Internet has also shifted from wired to wireless. Now, researchers and engineers are trying to remove the last remaining wires altogether by developing wireless power transfer technology.

Chun T. Rim, a professor of Nuclear & Quantum Engineering at KAIST, and his team showcased, on April 16, 2014 at the KAIST campus, Daejeon, Republic of Korea, a great improvement in the distance that electric power can travel wirelessly. They developed the "Dipole Coil Resonant System (DCRS)" for an extended range of inductive power transfer, up to 5 meters between transmitter and receiver coils.

Since MIT's (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) introduction of the Coupled Magnetic Resonance System (CMRS) in 2007, which used a magnetic field to transfer energy for a distance of 2.1 meters, the development of long-distance wireless power transfer has attracted much attention for further research.

Nearly 20 percent of Chinese farmland contaminated

Think twice about eating rice or anything else imported from China. A walking disaster for China and India.

A new official report has confirmed that one fifth of Chinese farmland is polluted. It cites the main causes as industry and agriculture. The report was originally a state secret and names heavy metals such as arsenic and cadmium as main pollutants.

The report on the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection confirms the extent of soil pollution in China as a result of the country’s dramatic industrialization, overuse of farm chemicals and minimal environmental protection.

The survey describes deserted industrial and mining land as the most polluted and the quality of farmland it says is worrying, while overall situation it says is “not optimistic.”

Started in 2005 and finished in December 2013, the study covered about 630 square kilometers of land and took around 100,000 samples across China.

Ukraine Confirms Entry Ban on Russian Males

Another dumb move. When neighbors fall out the Bear will win!

The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service confirmed Thursday that Russian males aged 16-60 have been banned from entering the country.

Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot earlier announced it had received an official letter from Ukrainian authorities notifying the company of the severe restrictions.

The exceptions to the ban include passengers traveling with relatives who are women or children, or those who have documents confirming an invitation from close relatives or serious illness or death in the family, the company said.

A spokesman for the service told RIA Novosti that "these temporary measures apply, primarily, to healthy males who could somehow influence the situation in eastern Ukraine."

Washington’s Corruption and Mendacity Is What Makes America “Exceptional”

World events permitting, I am going to take a few days off.

Many of you write to me asking for financial advice or for explanations of the pros
and cons of different investments. I don’t give financial advice and cannot answer
such a large number of individual inquiries. However, I can call to your attention two books that provide different views from those available in the financial media. The Aftershock Investor by David Wiedemer, Robert A. Wiedemer, and Cindy S. Spitzer (John Wiley & Sons, 2014) explains the vulnerabilities of each kind of investment. The Money Bubble by James Turk and John Rubino (DollarCollapse Press, 2013) explains the possible consequences of the current economic policies. Both books are directed at a general audience and are readable.

As I have reported on several occasions, the US government pays foreign rulers to do
Washington’s bidding. There is no such thing as an independent government in the UK, Europe or Japan. On top of all the other evidence, it has now come to light that the US Agency for International Development has a large slush fund “where millions are paid to political figures in foreign countries.” http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article38253.htm

If you have four hours, watch President Putin’s amazing open press conference with the Russia people and then try to imagine an American or European leader capable of such a feat. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article38254.htm The Russians have a real leader. We have two-bit punks.

Academics confirm that data shows majority does not rule in the US it is the rich and special interests

Oligarch rule in America, not people The Agenda is profit from you not serving you.

Next Big Future
18 April 2014

The US government does not represent the interests of the majority of the country's citizens, but is instead ruled by those of the rich and powerful.

Each of four theoretical traditions in the study of American politics – which can be characterized as theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy, Economic Elite Domination, and two types of interest group pluralism, Majoritarian Pluralism and Biased Pluralism – offers different predictions about which sets of actors have how much influence over public policy: average citizens; economic elites; and organized interest groups, mass-based or business-oriented.

A great deal of empirical research speaks to the policy influence of one or another set of actors, but until recently it has not been possible to test these contrasting theoretical predictions against each other within a single statistical model. This paper reports on an effort to do so, using a unique data set that includes measures of the key variables for 1,779 policy issues.

Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.

Trump Donates to Ted Cruz PAC

So now the Combover Joke backs Cruz.

Newsmax
By Sharon Churcher
18 April 2014

Real estate mogul and entertainment personality Donald Trump gave $5,000 to Sen. Ted Cruz’s leadership PAC in January, according to newly released campaign records.

The Hill reported that Trump’s donation to the tea party-backed Texas Republican — the maximum allowed per election cycle — is the latest indication that the men are becoming political allies.

The relationship between the pair got off to a bumpy start. Last August, Trump said he wasn’t sure whether Cruz could be president because he was born in Canada.

But at a February Republican Party dinner at his Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, the tycoon called Cruz a "very special guy" and defended his 21-hour filibuster on the Senate floor over Obamacare.

"Russia with Love": Alaska Gas Scandal is Out-of-Country, Not Out-of-State

The irony of bedfellows. Alaska and Russia have far more in common than America.

Desmogblog

18 April 2014

A legal controversy — critics would say scandal — has erupted in Alaska's statehouse over the future of its natural gas bounty.

It's not so much an issue of the gas itself, but who gets to decide how it gets to market and where he or she resides.

The question of who owns Alaska's natural gas and where they're from, at least for now, has been off the table. More on that later.

At its core, the controversy centers around a public-private entity called the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) created on April 18, 2010 via House Bill 369 for the “purpose of planning, constructing, and financing in-state natural gas pipeline projects.” AGDC has a $400 million budget funded by taxpayers.

U.S. Navy to turn seawater into jet fuel

Interesting given we are working towards a similar economic solution. And it is quite clear we can take waste plastic and convert it back into oil. Imagine the job potential and it is not something China can pull off.

It is this kind of focus that will make America strong again if we STOP ELECTING ASSHOLES TO GOVERN . This will make energy dependent nations independent, a game changer good for the world. Back to Sandmen in the Gulf.

The Navy just found a way to reduce its dependence on possible adversaries for oil — it’s converted seawater into jet fuel.

Navy researchers have announced a major technological breakthrough, saying that they have been able to convert seawater into CO2 and hydrogen, Defense One reported. By successfully clearing the chemical hurdle, scientists can now use another series of chemical processes to create a seawater-based fuel.

“It has to meet military specifications to go into a jet,” Heather Willauer, a research chemist with the Naval Research Laboratory or NRL, told an audience at the annual Sea Air Space Expo near Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, Defense One reported.

“We haven’t actually made it to the specifications stage yet. But we know we’re in the hydro-carbon region and it shouldn’t be very difficult to meet that specification.”
