Al Qaeda Militants Capture US Black Hawk Helicopters In Iraq

Another total Cluster F*** operation.

What will be interesting is what the Kurds will do about this intrusion into their territory. And even more embarrassing is these insurgents could not have made this move without American supplied weapons. You spend a Trillion to fight a conflict and then you fund insurgents to overthrow the structure you left behind. Simply brilliant strategy. Wonder what the Vets think or the relatives of those who died for nothing. What you can be sure of is that Iraq will descend into chaos. Forget orderly oil shipments. Hegemony by retards.

Just when one thought US foreign policy couldn't sink any deeper into the hole of its embarrassment, it takes out a shovel and starts digging. Overnight, in what AP describes as a stunning assault that exposed Iraq's eroding central authority, Al Qaida-inspired militants from ISIS, or the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, overran much of Mosul on Tuesday, seizing government buildings, pushing out security forces and capturing military vehicles as thousands of residents fled the second-largest city.

For those who may have forgotten, Iraq was one of those countries "liberated" by the the United States, which unlike Afghanistan where the opium trade is still important, did pull out its troops two and a half years ago.

Ths shocking takeover of Mosul took place months after Al Qaeda-linked fighers took over another Iraqi town, Fallujah, earlier in the year and which they have successfully defended against government attempts to reclaim it.

That however, was just the appetizer: Mosul is a much bigger, more strategic prize. The city and surrounding Ninevah province, which is on the doorstep of Iraq's relatively prosperous Kurdish region, are a major export route for Iraqi oil and a gateway to Syria.

Humor | teaching English

A Priest was about to finish his tour of duty and was leaving his Mission in the jungle where he had spent years teaching the natives. When he realized that the one thing he had never taught them was how to speak English.

So he takes the chief for a walk in the forest. He points to a tree and says to the chief, "This is a tree."

The chief looks at the tree and grunts, "Tree."

The Priest is pleased with the response.

They walk a little further and he points to a rock and says, "This is a rock."

Hearing this, the chief looks and grunts, "Rock."

The Priest was really getting enthusiastic about the results when he hears a rustling in the bushes. As they peek over the top, he sees a couple of natives in the midst of heavy sexual activity.

The Priest is really flustered and quickly responds, "Man riding a bike."

The chief looks at the couple briefly, pulls out his blowgun and kills them both.

The Priest goes ballistic and yells at the chief that he has spent years teaching the tribe how to be civilized and kind to each other. So how could he kill these people in cold blood that way?

The chief replied, "My bike."

Russia Is Doing It – Russia Is Actually Abandoning The Dollar

Real News, real Issues. Russia IS NOW Actually Abandoning the Dollar. He has called their bluff.

Now if you couple this with the Gold and other metals scandal being reported in China, this will have a explosive effect on liquidity in the western banks as the timing of disclosure seems to be in unison. So is this a quiet way of making a western weakness, a western problem while the Chinese stand back, is not known. However, it sure looks like a shot across the bow at an opportune moment.

The Economic Collapse
By Michael Snyder

The Russians are actually making a move against the petrodollar. It appears that they are quite serious about their de-dollarization strategy. The largest natural gas producer on the planet, Gazprom, has signed agreements with some of their biggest customers to switch payments for natural gas from U.S. dollars to euros. And Gazprom would have never done this without the full approval of the Russian government, because the Russian government holds a majority stake in Gazprom. There hasn't been a word about this from the big mainstream news networks in the United States, but this is huge. When you are talking about Gazprom, you are talking about a company that is absolutely massive. It is one of the largest companies in the entire world and it makes up 8 percent of Russian GDP all by itself. It holds 18 percent of the natural gas reserves of the entire planet, and it is also a very large oil producer. So for Gazprom to make a move like this is extremely significant.

When Barack Obama decided to slap some meaningless economic sanctions on Russia a while back, he probably figured that the world would forget about them after a few news cycles.

But the Russians do not forget, and they certainly do not forgive.

At this point the Russians are turning their back on the United States, and that includes the U.S. dollar.

What you are about to read is absolutely stunning, and yet you have not heard about it from any major U.S. news source. But what Gazprom is now doing has the potential to really shake up the global financial landscape. The following is an excerpt from a news report by the ITAR-TASS news agency...

Dispatching B-2 Stealth Bombers to Europe

Counter Punch
By Mike Whitney

“This deployment of strategic bombers provides an invaluable opportunity to strengthen and improve interoperability with our allies and partners.”
– Admiral Cecil Haney, commander, US Strategic Command on the deployment of B-2 stealth bombers to Europe.

“Against stupidity, no amount of planning will prevail.”
- Carl von Clausewitz

Less than 24 hours after Ukraine’s new president Petro Poroshenko announced his determination to retake Crimea from Russia, US Admiral Cecil Haney confirmed that the US Air Force had deployed two B-2 stealth bombers to Europe to conduct military exercises. The addition of the multipurpose B-2, which is capable of delivering nuclear weapons, is intended to send a message to Moscow that the United States is prepared to provide backup for Ukraine’s fledgling government and to protect its interests in Central Asia. News of the deployment was reported in the Russian media, but was excluded by all the western news outlets.

The B-2 announcement was preceded by an inflammatory speech by Poroshenko at the presidential “swearing in” ceremony in Kiev. In what some analysts have called a “declaration of war”, Poroshenko promised to wrest control of Crimea from Russia which annexed the region just months earlier following a public referendum that showed 90 percent support for the measure. Here’s part of what Poroshenko said:

“The issue of territorial integrity of Ukraine is not subject to discussion…I have just sworn ‘with all my deeds to protect the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,’ and I will always be faithful to this sacred promise…

“Russia occupied Crimea, which was, is and will be Ukrainian soil…Yesterday, in the course of the meeting in Normandy, I told this to President Putin: Crimea is Ukraine soil. Period. There can be no compromise on the issues of Crimea, European choice and state structure…” (New York Times)

Radical human brain modification using high-powered lasers has been perfected

OK, so lets start with Transhuman steps. Things we can do to aid society and our species.

The good and the bad. The drug crowd has competition.

Extreme Tech

Pinpoint fixing of trouble zones in your brain just got real. Enter the new Visuolase fiber-optic laser: 15 Watts of liquid-cooled, catheterized laser persuasion. When mated to a ROSA medical robot, this device makes the brain-fixer mech from Ender’s Game look downright primitive. Even the most stubborn neurons will be conformed. It’s not just the laser that makes this new medical virtuosity the experience of a lifetime, it’s the unreal, futuristic technology pipeline that now awaits. From the salubrious gauntlet we will detail below, even the most humble plebs who aspire to any of the device trials now in full swing can make of themselves a medical celebrity.

The ordeal for those to go under the (laser) knife begins with thorough evaluations to pinpoint any major design flaws, or life-hazards incurred in their basic cerebral mechanics. For the thirteen epilepsy patients involved in initial trials based at the Emory University School of Medicine, this included any number of unique labors and privileges. High on the list were the use of subdural (under the scalp, on the brain surface) electrode arrays to localize where seizures first begin. At its most basic level this would mean which half of the brain is primarily to blame. For those outfitted with this gear, cortical areas involved in vital functions like speech or face recognition can be also predetermined. These regions, whimsically designated as the “eloquent cortex” by neurosurgeons, are not so much the parts of the cortex that might be merely missed if ablated, but rather those whose loss could not be ignored.

Several patients were additionally given what is known as a “Wada” test to expand and confirm the electrode evaluations. This diabolical thrill involves injecting either the left or right arterial blood feedstock with a powerful barbiturate to see what critical functions drop out, or temporarily go offline. The whole patient workup is supplemented by MRI and PET scans to get a feel for the anatomy at hand; more-or-less a dry run of the procedure about to go down. This typically involves further dubious ingestion of radioactive labels in the case of PET, and gadolinium contrast agents for the MRI. In this vein of patient precautions, we should also make mention of the smattering of X-rays you may later absorb during the procedure from the fluoroscopic arm used to check on the probe position.

US pressed Maliki to do more to address political concerns across Iraq after the fall of second-largest city to Isis extremists

The Guardian
By Dan Roberts
10 June 2014

The US on Tuesday pressed for a strong response to push Islamic extremists out of Mosul, Iraq's second largest city, as a sudden withdrawal of Iraqi government forces from the city led the White House to question whether prime minister Nouri al-Maliki was doing enough to hold his country together.

The White House called on the Iraqi government to “step up to the plate” and do more to address political concerns across the country after the fall of Mosul to forces from the Islamic State of Iraq in Syria (Isis) – also known as Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) – left officials in Washington warning of an “extremely serious” threat that could impact the entire region.

“The United States is deeply concerned about the events that have transpired in Mosul over the last 48 hours where elements of the Islamic State of Iraq (Isil) have taken over significant parts of the city,” added the State Department in a statement.
