Record number of expatriates renounce U.S. citizenship

This is why the smart Americans are leaving.

U.S. on track for 3,000 renunciations in 2014, says analyst of Treasury data

Patricia Moon was born in Dayton, Ohio, to a family descended from Quakers who settled in the New World before the American Revolution.

As a young woman, Moon fell for a Canadian man and moved to Toronto. The 59-year-old homemaker, who still visits the U.S. to see relatives, said she feels American in her bones, even after three decades abroad. Yet despite her deep roots, Moon walked into a U.S. consulate two years ago, raised her right hand and recited an oath renouncing her U.S. citizenship. Afterward, she said, “I bawled my eyes out.”

Moon is among record numbers of Americans cutting ties. U.S. offices abroad reported that 1,001 U.S. citizens and green-card holders had renounced their allegiance in the first three months of the year, according to Andrew Mitchel, a lawyer in Centerbrook, Conn., who analyzes Treasury Department data. That figure puts 2014 on track to top last year’s total of 2,999 renunciations, he said, which was the most since the government began disclosing the data.

Helping boost the exodus, experts say, is a five-year-old U.S. campaign to hunt for undeclared accounts held by Americans abroad.

How an arrest in Iraq revealed ISIS's $2bn jihadist network

You would think with all the surveillance that goes on spying on us all this should not have been a surprise. How stupid are they?

Seizure of 160 computer flash sticks revealed the inside story of Isis, the band of militants that came from nowhere with nothing to having Syrian oil fields and control of Iraq's second city

The Guardian
By Martin Chulov
15 June 2014

Two days before Mosul fell to the Islamic insurgent group Isis (the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant), Iraqi commanders stood eyeballing its most trusted messenger. The man, known within the extremist group as Abu Hajjar, had finally cracked after a fortnight of interrogation and given up the head of Isis's military council.

"He said to us, 'you don't realise what you have done'," an intelligence official recalled. "Then he said: 'Mosul will be an inferno this week'.'

Several hours later, the man he had served as a courier and been attempting to protect, Abdulrahman al-Bilawi, lay dead in his hideout near Mosul. From the home of the dead man and the captive, Iraqi forces hoovered up more than 160 computer flash sticks which contained the most detailed information yet known about the terror group.

Leo fights back!

“A VETERANS TODAY COLUMNIST HAS BEEN ADVISED THAT A CURRENT UNITED STATES SENATOR WILL NOT SUPPORT, NOR DISCUSS THE NEW REPUBLIC HIGH SPEED RAIL (HSR) PROGRAM TO BE MANUFACTURED IN TENNESSEE [USA] UNTIL AMBASSADOR WANTA IS PAID>>>…. Until Ambassador Wanta is fully paid, two million new American jobs will not be immediately implemented.” (19) [This means Two Million new good job opportunities are now in peril because of the lack of support of the U.S. Senate for something that was lawfully determined]

Will we soon see the biggest overnight Reversal of our US Foreign Policy since 9/11 as major cities in Iraq fall under attack by Sunni led Islamists?

American Soldiers left Iraq and turned over the nation to Iraq’s Security Forces which are now abandoning many cities as Sunni led forces attack.

Is Iraq is being set up with this Sunni led invasion as another provocation to bring America back into a new Mideast war, or is there another more complex geopolitical game being played out here?

One thing you can bet on, this conflict has be pre-staged and will end up benefiting the Military Industrial Complex and the City of London Zionist Bankers and the major oil companies one way or another. That seems to be the way it always works.

It is now known that the 9/11/01 attack was a sophisticated inside-job, Gladio-style False-Flag covert attack on America involving the use of pre-planted nukes in the Twin Towers and over 70,000 New Yorkers and first responders now suffer from radiation related cancers from the 9/11 nuclear explosions.

Humor | Aircraft Hits 4 Buildings

For sure, some crapped themselves then. Oh to have seen it and laughed. What a "mess" this must have turned out to be. Spare pants anyone?

This is tough to see. It just shows the dangers of attending these events.

Amazing photo below shows great detail.

The pilot at low level had no control over his aircraft.

It narrowly misses a crowd gathered for the air show and slams into four buildings.

One can only imagine the horror of the occupants inside those buildings.

No one was killed, but it probably scared the crap out of them.

Western leadership bankruptcy on display in Ukraine

Small wonder the West is being seen as an undesirable guest in much of the world. It will only accelerate the departure from the dollar in trade.

The Syrian election and now the geopolitical earthquake in Iraq have sucked the air out of the Ukraine coverage.

This has allowed Poroshenko to continue the solely punitive military-assault on East Ukraine, which is nothing more than a morbid payoff display of saying “thank you” to those who voted him into office.

The lack of continued coverage in the West has allowed both the US administration and the EU to escape any public scrutiny and approbation for having done nothing to stop the carnage, when they can do so with one phone call, or to get the negotiations started, which we all know will eventually take place.

US to deploy 275 troops to Iraq

In letter to Congress, Obama says the military force will provide security for US Embassy and personnel in Baghdad

Al Jazeera
16 June 2014

President Barack Obama notified Congress on Monday that about 275 U.S. military personnel are deploying to Iraq.

Obama said the troops are going to provide support and security for U.S. personnel and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. He said the forces are equipped for combat and will remain in Iraq until the security situation improves and they are no longer needed.

About 160 troops are already in Iraq, including 50 Marines and more than 100 Army soldiers, some of whom have only recently arrived.

Under the authorization Obama outlined, a U.S. official said Washington will put an additional 100 soldiers in a nearby third country, where they would be held in reserve until needed.

Fed Prepares For Bond-Fund Runs, Looking At Imposing "Exit Fee" Gates

Never a good sign when signs of restricting capital movement occurs. Now they will charge you if you try to cut and run.

Zero Hedge
By Tyler Durden
16 June 2014

It was two short years ago that the Fed, in its relentless attempt to push everyone into the biggest equity bubble of all time, did something many thought was merely a backdoor ploy to forcibly reallocate capital out of the $2.7 trillion money market industry and into stocks when, as we wrote in July 2012, it contemplated imposing suspensions of fund redemptions to "allow for the orderly liquidation of funds assets." Or in other words "gate" money markets.

Since then various iterations of this proposal have been attempted, either by the Fed or the SEC, however due to stern industry push back (and the relatively modest amount of money at stake) the attempt to force investors to rotate their funds out of money markets (because it is quite clear that if the Fed is hinting at gating issues with a given asset class, it is only a matter of time before the hint becomes a reality) has failed, and as a result the total amount of notional capital held at money market funds has been largely unchanged in recent years.

Here comes attempt number two.

Only this time it is no longer aimed at money market funds, but that other most hated, by the Fed, asset class: bond funds, whose relentless inflows, we shouldn't have to remind readers are the main reason why the propaganda myth of a recovery, and the resulting con game, keep crashing and burning, as it is impossible to spin a 2.5% 10 Year yield as indicative of anything remotely resembling a recovery, and shows at best, a semi-deflationary world. Said inflows also are recurring evidence that whatever retail money remains unallocated, continues to go into the one asset class which is actively disparaged by the Fed at every opportunity.

In brief, if anything, the Fed would prefer that all retail investors pull their money out of bonds funds (and money markets of course), and invest them into 100x+ P/E biotech stocks. Because after all, today's stock market is nothing but the biggest Fed-propped Ponzi scheme in existence.

Bush's toxic legacy in Iraq

The reality of Iraq today. Obama can simply blame Bush. Why not, both are as clueless as each other.

By Peter Bergen
16 June 2014

ISIS, the brutal insurgent/terrorist group formerly known as al Qaeda in Iraq, has seized much of western and northern Iraq and even threatens towns not far from Baghdad.

From where did ISIS spring? One of George W. Bush's most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship.

If this wasn't so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil. Their claims that Saddam Hussein's men were training members of al Qaeda how to make weapons of mass destruction seemed to be one of the most compelling rationales for the impending war.

After the fall of Hussein's regime, no documents were unearthed in Iraq proving the Hussein-al Qaeda axis despite the fact that, like other totalitarian regimes, Hussein's government kept massive and meticulous records.
